This is a favourite quote of mine from Rumi – and I love the Thuluth calligraphy by Mamoun Sakkal.
I’ve cut it before, but this time, I’ve done it in a piece of very rare and special Hopton Wood stone – with the English translation on the back.
I had a lot of fun working on this – I did the original lettering with a brush on paper, and then digitised it and played round with the letters and the spacing in Adobe Illustrator, before putting the final version on the stone.
I’m very happy with it.
